This list covers only a legitimate attempt by the city to provide a safe bike lane, so there are no stinkin’ sharrows on the list. Half-assed attempts such as. the horrific Grand Avenue lanes, where the city did little more than paint a lane, are included, but only so they can be mocked; they should not be considered a serious element of the city’s biking infrastructure.
Downtown/Crossroads
- Southwest Boulevard from 19th Street to 25th Street (recommended)
- 19th Street from Baltimore Ave east to The Paseo
- Grand Avenue from 7th Street south to 20th Street (terrible)
River Market and Northeast
- Cliff Drive Connector
- 3rd Street Lanes–
- Berkeley Riverfront–3rd Street north and east to I-29/35 overpass
West Bottoms
Midtown/Westport
- Broadway Boulevard from Linwood Boulevard south to Westport Road (not recommended)
- Lanes are together on the east side of the road.
- Well protected by concrete curbs.
- Zigzags constantly and sharply.
- Intersecting roads and business driveways are numerous.
- Armour Boulevard from Broadway east to The Paseo
- Gillham Road Cycle Track and Oak Street Lanes–13th Street south to 45th Street
Country Club Plaza/UMKC
- Cleaver II Boulevard from Troost Avenue west to Oak Street (recommended)
- serves to connect the path along Brush Creek to the east to the Plaza (almost).
- Lanes are on both sides of the street. They are well protected by concrete curbs but the lanes are narrow, inhibiting safe passing of slower riders.
- Rockhill Road from Gillham Road south to MLK JR Blvd (recommended)
Brookside
- Trolley Track Trail — not a good trail for e-bikes except at southern end
East Side
- Brush Creek Trail from the Country Club Plaza east to the Blue River Trail
- Blue River Trail from Stadium Drive south to Swope Park
- Stadium Drive from 31st Street east to Raytown Road
